GMG (Gays Meeting Gays South West) is a social group which offers a welcome alternative to the pub and club culture.
Catering for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities of Bristol, Bath, Weston-Super-Mare and surrounding areas, GMG was formed from the joining together of two very successful and long established gay social groups, "Chris' Coffee Club" and "Men Meeting Men". The idea is to provide a welcoming social group where you can meet new people at the various events we hold throughout the year.
There is no official membership or joining fee - all are welcome to attend. A bi-monthly Newsletter is emailed to interested individuals (a copy can be received by post for a small annual charge) which contains all the latest news, views and events.
The success of GMG is down to its committee and those who attend its numerous events. Our members' ages range from early 20s through to late 80s - a wide range with differing needs and expectations. There is something for everyone and everyone gets on well with each other - all sharing a strong sense of friendship and willingness to include all, existing or new, in activities.
Events are numerous and varied. They include our annual Christmas Dinner, Palm Sunday Easter Lunch, New Year's Eve Fancy Dress Party, Summer Ball, theatre trips, Thursday social evenings and Saturday Supper Parties - plus lots of other events such as visits to National Trust properties, Sunday lunches, Murder Evenings, etc. For an idea of the range of activities, see our 'Events' and 'Gallery' pages.
We organise a long weekend holiday in the UK each year and this is open to everyone. Any ideas for future events are always welcomed.
We look forward to welcoming you to an event and to GMG. You will be sure of a warm and friendly welcome.
